A few days ago, I was read an article about Solar Cell, so now, what is solar cell?
A solar cell is a device that converts the energy of sunlight directly into electricity by the photovoltaic effect. Sometimes the term solar cell is reserved for devices intended specifically to capture energy from sunlight such as solar panels and solar cells, while the term photovoltaic cell is used when the light source is unspecified. Assemblies of cells are used to make solar panels, solar modules, or photovoltaic arrays. Photovoltaics is the field of technology and research related to the application of solar cells in producing electricity for practical use. The energy generated this way is an example of solar energy (also known as solar power).
Then, what is the adventage of using solar cell?
- Solar power plant can supply electricity to locations which not served the electricity network.
- Potential utilization of solar energy distributed evenly so that can be used for remote areas.
- Solar electricity is a quick solution, because the installation process is relatively quick to produce electricity lighting etc.
- Solar energy is very clean, because it is physically able to absorb UV radiation (the sun), did not produce the least emissions, no noise is loud and does not require fuel to be purchased every day.
- Solar power systems have proven reliable for more than 50 years supporting the space program, where there are no other energy sources, nuclear is not too well, which can survive in extreme conditions in space.
- Solar Panel is one tool that can exploit the potential of solar radiation energy of 4.8 Kwh / m 2 / day which is a large enough potential power.
- Solar panels have the impression of modern and futuristic, but also have the impression of caring and clean environment. It is suitable for the world of modern architecture that combines these critical elements.
